Greetings from Chef Jacques and Paul |
|
Breaking news! Beginning Tuesday, July 7th, Jacques’ Brasserie will be open for lunch! Many of our friends and neighbors have asked for a more casual, “drop in” dining option, and we listened. You may also make reservations for both lunch and dinner in the Brasserie on our webpage. I have added some classic and seasonal dishes to the Brasserie menu (think local grilled lamb tenderloin, veal scalloppini with Virginia ham, and hand-picked garden tomato salad with fresh herbs). I personally invite you to enjoy dining al fresco on our newly landscaped patio, complete with a bubbling fountain and evening lighting for extra ambiance. Also, don’t forget our popular Jacques’ Bar Rouge happy hour! Voilà et bon appétit.
July also brings inspiration for moi in the kitchen. We have squash, peppers, cucumbers, beans, and (finally) tomatoes coming out of our two on-site gardens. Fresh herbs are also in abundance and I’m prompted to come up with dishes that feature our home-grown produce in the most delicious ways. All of our dishes are garnished with our garden vegetables and herbs in season; and, the best part: whatever we make can be eaten outside, under the stars.
Undoubtedly, there will be a few brutally hot summer days this month, but a chilled glass of champagne or one of our four craft draft beers with a just-picked vegetable salad are a guaranteed antidote to the most withering summer days.
To celebrate July Fourth, Bastille Day and the summer season, we have a full slate of special events lined up for the month of July. We hope that you can join us for one of the four events we have planned, including one of Chef Jacques’ entertaining cooking demonstration.
Cheers to summer!
Chef Jacques, Paul Haeringer, and the L’Auberge Chez François team

Dierberg Vineyard Wine Dinner |
|
Please join us on Wednesday, July 8th at 6:30pm for a Dierberg Vineyard Wine Dinner. Craig Strange introduces the wines of Dierberg, Three Saints and Star Lane Vineyards. Jim and Mary Dierberg have owned the Hermannhof Winery in Hermann, Missouri since 1974. But the region’s Midwestern climate cannot support European varieties, so the Dierbergs scoured France and California, before finding the ideal region in Santa Barbara County in 1996. These wines certainly reward their efforts. |

Anglers’ Delight Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon |
|
Please join us on Saturday, July 25th at 11:00am for the Anglers’ Delight cooking demonstration and luncheon. This event was inspired by Chef Jacques’ favorite pastime, fishing. If you have not been to one of Chef’s hilariously lively cooking demonstrations, you are in for a treat. Dine on a seasonal five-course seafood and garden menu, including several vegetables and herbs straight from our gardens; the luncheon is complimented with three wines selected by Paul Haeringer.
