Romantic celebrations are a tradition at L’Auberge Chez François, you might even say that they are our raison d’etre. Our philosophy is that life’s memorable moments are not complete without a festive meal. Many couples return to L’Auberge year after year to renew and reaffirm the romance in their lives. We supply the cuisine, ambience, service, and wine: you bring your own romantic magic. February is, of course, the month for romance and we’re hosting several special events that will help you celebrate that special someone in your life. On the menu will be Champagne, aphrodisiacs, passionfruit and passion itself. Come enjoy a delicious meal and a little romance at our slice of France, right here in Great Falls, Virginia.  

 
 
 
 
Carnivore Lovers’ Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon
 
Please join Chef Jacques on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00am for his popular Carnivore Lovers’ Valentine Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon. Preparing a repast for your special someone is an act of love and Chef Jacques will show you how to prepare a fabulous meal, for your special someone. The romantic menu features our Cave-aged Gruyère Cheese, Applewood Bacon and Virginia Ham Tart, Creekstone Farms’ Filet Mignon prepared with a rich truffle sauce, and – a certain aphrodisiac – a decadent Valrhrona Chocolate Truffle Soufflé. Oh la la! Love really does begin in the kitchen!

Champagne Lovers’ Celebration and Dinner
 
Please join us on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 7:00pm for our Champagne Lovers’ Dinner. While Champagne is popularly thought of as a wine for special occasions, its true fans know that it is made in a range of styles, and complements a greater variety of dishes than any other. For ambience, the evening boasts the romantic music of classical guitarist Alexander Barnett, who performs an extensive repertoire of classical and jazz music. For cuisine, we begin with delectable seasonal canapés and our Passionflower Cocktail, followed by Chef Jacques’ exquisite menu of la cuisine romantique.

Seafood Lovers’ Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon
 
The pleasures of the table, fine food and wine are an essential part of a passionate life. Please join us on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00am for Chef Jacques’ Seafood Lovers’ Valentine Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon. The menu includes Papa’s Classic Bouillabaisse featuring shellfish and julienned vegetables and Le Saumon Souffle’ de l’Auberge, a signature dish from three-star L’Auberge de L’Ill, where Chef Jacques had the opportunity to train and work. And for dessert, a Chocolate and Passion Fruit Mousse Cake, our piece de résistance for dessert lovers.

Musique et Cuisine featuring Lena Seikaly and Steve Herberman
 
Join us as we continue our Musique et Cuisine Dinner series at L’Auberge Chez François on Sunday, February 19th, 2016 at 6:00pm. Noted jazz vocalist Lena Seikaly and guitarist Steve Herberman will join us once again to sing jazz classics by American and French composers. With three albums to her credit, Lena Seikaly has been named “one of D.C.’s preeminent jazz singers” (The Washington Post). Steve Herberman is an acclaimed jazz guitarist with three albums to his name as a leader, and many more as a collaborator.

Wine Festival and Luncheon
 
The next installment of our ever-popular Wine Festival and Luncheon will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Please join us as we sample twelve wines from France, Spain, Australia, Washington State and California. Arrive anytime between 11:30 and 1:00pm for a walk-around tasting of these fine wines paired with Chef Jacques’ canapés. Our sommeliers will be on-hand to guide you through the tasting and answer questions. Following the tasting, sit down and enjoy a complete luncheon of your choice from our four-course menu, paired with another glass of wine.

Team Member of the Month
 
Roosevelt Posada Portillo is our “Mr. Fix-It”. He has been helping the restaurant since May 25, 2004 by being a jack of all trades. Roosevelt is our all-around handyman, gardener, and maintenance man. He even fills in as a dishwasher occasionally. Have you seen the thousands of Christmas lights around the property during the holidays? Roosevelt is part of the team that works tirelessly for over six weeks to decorate both the inside and outside of L’Auberge Chez François and Jacques’ Brasserie. Thank you, Roosevelt, for all of your hard work and contributions!
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Monsieur François Compétition
