Coeur de Terre or “Heart of the Earth” was founded in 1998 by Scott and Lisa Neal and is located in the West Hills of McMinnville, known for their geologic diversity and beauty which translates into unique pinot noir.
Chef Jacques is thrilled to host Scott and his delectable wines after a recent visit to the beautiful vineyards of Coeur de Terre in the Willamette Valley. Come for an evening of tasting “handcrafted, sustainable, artisanal and undeniably Oregon wines” paired with a delightful five-course dinner menu.
Chef Jacques’ Seasonal Canapés
Coeur de Terre Pinot Gris 2014
On the palate there is vibrant acidity and lightness that dances on your tongue leading to a focused minerality with flavors reminiscent of sweet Oregon peaches, apricots and grapefruit rind.
Ahi Tuna Martini, Chives and Lemon Zest
Coeur de Terre Oregon Pinot Noir 2013
The McMinnville AVA is known for its intense Pinot Noirs and earthy overtones, and this vintage lives up to these expectations. A bright red color lures you in with signature Coeur de Terre earthy aromatics, dried herbs followed by notes of plum, cherry, blueberry, and raspberry.
Roasted Shitake Mushrooms, Garlic, Garden Thyme
Coeur de Terre Heritage Pinot Noir 2013
Beautifully capturing one if not the coldest Oregon vintage in recent history, this wine is bound to become a classic expression of Oregon Pinot Noir. It first impresses with a beautiful delicate shitake mushroom and wild cherry nose followed by Pacific NW forest floor aromas and spices.
Coeur de Terre Syrah-Braised Veal Osso Bucco, Wild Rice
Coeur de Terre Syrah 2012
Willamette Valley Syrahs are rare, and here’s why. Even in a picture-perfect vintage such as this, the abv doesn’t reach 13%. Nonetheless, this wine merits your attention. Tart and peppery, yet balanced and showing some depth of flavor, it’s a marriage of umami, citrus, raspberry and stem.
Coeur de Terre Estate Reserve Abby’s Block 2012
Brilliant ruby-red. Sexy, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, cherry-cola and incense, with a suave floral quality adding lift. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry and rose pastille flavors complicated by hints of vanilla and allspice.
Mango and White Chocolate Gâteau
Gillette’s Locally-roasted Coffee, Selection of Harney and Sons’ Fine Teas
$118.00
excluding tax and gratuity; for a total of 150.00
