The series comes to L’Auberge Chez Francois on Sunday, August 6, 2023 just in perfect time for an outdoor celebration, at one of Open Table’s Top 100 Restaurants in America for Outdoor Dining!
In its third year, Summer Supper Somm features top chefs and food and beverage professionals across the state celebrating tomatoes. Partners include David and Barbara Hunsaker (their Village Garden grows over 300 varieties of the fruit on their small farm in Hanover) and enthusiastic oenophile and sommelier Jason Tesauro of Barboursville Vineyards.
Join us for an evening of fabulous Virginia wine and delectable “fruit of the summer” cuisine offered on our covered garden terrace 40ft x 55ft Grande Tente, complete with cooling fans, café bistro lighting, and pastoral views of our six acres, two on-site gardens, koi pond, and blooming flowers.
The evening begins with Chef’s seasonal hors d’oeuvres (think tomatoes) and a crisp glass of Barboursville Prosecco Brut
Next, we will sit down and enjoy culinary magic with nature’s bounty with Tomatoes from our Chef’s Garden and from the acclaimed Village Garden RVA
named “the most delicious tomatoes in the country,” by Food & Wine Magazine https://www.foodandwine.com/lifestyle/hanover-virginia-tomatoes will be served with a culinary repast paired with fine wines from Barboursville Vineyards, one of Virginia’s most honored wineries.
Come break bread with Village Garden founders David and Barbara Hunsaker and Barboursville Estate Director Luca Paschina, and mais oui but of course, our own Chef Jacques and team.
