February is, of course, the month for romance. L’Auberge Chez François is proud to be recognized as the number one most romantic restaurant in the DC Metro area and again, this year for Top 100 Restaurants in America for Romance by OpenTable Diners. A new accolade this year, The Most Romantic Restaurant in Virginia by Good Housekeeping. Now that’s a seal of approval!
We celebrate spring with a fabulous line up of ten exciting events in March. March brings delectable brunches and dinners with varied live entertainment featuring jazz, French music, Motown and country! We are delighted to welcome back our former sommelier Klaus Wittauer as we team up to bring you a “Blue Danube River” cooking demonstration and luncheon featuring the wines of Austria. Klaus will also be accompanying “moi” August 18, 2019 on the just announced Blue Danube River Reflections river cruise with our friends and partners at Tauck. Stay tuned for details.
At Chef Jacques’ table this month, we host two terrific wineries, Larkmead Vineyards and Tablas Creek Vineyards.
We invite you a “not to be missed” Sunday supper featuring The Classics Band performing sounds of the 60’s with moi sitting in on a few tunes on drums.
In keeping with the Alsatian’s love of great beer, we are happy to host our own Virginia’s award winning Starr Hill Brewery and brewmaster Robbie O’Cain with a lively craft beer cooking demo and luncheon. And rounding out this action-packed March is a Here’s to Heroes Wine & Craft Beer Festival Benefiting United Volleyball USA and The World Police and Fire Games I am honored to be donating all proceeds to these outstanding gentleman representing the USA in China this August

Jazz Times has noted the “poetic beauty” of his saxophone solos. Please join Chef Jacques Haeringer and Klaus Wittauer, former sommelier of L’Auberge Chez François on Saturday March 16th, 2019 at 11:00 AM, for our “Blue Danube River Reflections” Cooking Demonstration and Luncheon.The afternoon will feature a luscious menu of seafood, Elysian Fields Lamb and the famous Salzburger dessert. This afternoon, we will take a delectable tour of Austrian wine, as guided by Klaus.To start the day, you will sip chilled Gruner Veltliner from the beautiful Wachau region as Chef Jacques presents his cooking demonstration. As a special treat, Klaus will join in and show us how to prepare Salzburger Nockerl, an Austrian dessert soufflé. Born in a Charlottesville music hall in 1999, Starr Hill Brewery was founded out of a passion for great beer and live music.Among the most award-winning craft breweries on the East Coast, Starr Hill has won 22 Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup and Great British Beer Festival medals. As the second oldest craft brewery in Virginia, Starr Hill has led the way as a pioneer in the industry, helping to lay the groundwork for the growing craft beer community in the region. Please join us Thursday, March 28th, 2019 at 7:00 PM, as we welcome Jason Haas of Tablas Creek Vineyard, who will be presenting his wines along with wines from partner Château de Beaucastel.Tablas Creek is the realization of the combined efforts of two of the international wine community’s leading families: the Perrin family, proprietors of Château de Beaucastel, and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. In 1989, they purchased a 120-acre parcel twelve miles from the Pacific Ocean in what is now the Adelaida District west of Paso Robles. They named it Tablas Creek Vineyard, after the small creek running through the property. We are excited not only to feature the Rhône-inspire wines of Tablas Creek, but to taste the Esprit de Tablas along with its inspiration, Château de Beaucastel from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. |

This winning team is a a not-for-profit organization comprised of active and retired professional police officers, firefighters, and law enforcement representatives from across the country with elite athletic talent and a passion for giving back.Chef Jacques’ tasty seasonal canapés and appetizers. Our sommeliers and brewers will be on-hand to guide you through the tasting. Meet-and-greet members of the team, who will be representing the United States of America in an international competition in Chengdu, China in August, at the World Police and Fire Games, that brings in 10,000+ first responders from around the world. This month we honor Jose Adolfo Perez who joined L’Auberge Chez François in August 2010. Adolfo is one of our daytime dishwashers ,but like most of our employees, he is always ready to jump in to other tasks. If that means peeling vegetables, cleaning, moving furniture, or even helping in the our gardens he’s our guy! We can always count on him being so friendly and hardworking. We want to thank Adolfo for doing such a great job and for all his hard work. |
