Greetings from Chef Jacques and Paul |
|
My brother, Paul, and I are happy to announce that Jacques’ Brasserie will open daily for lunch, beginning on Tuesday, July 7th. Many patrons have asked about the possibility of lunch service at the Brasserie and I’m happy to offer this more casual lunch option to our customers. The lunch menu at the Brasserie will feature our popular bistro classics like beef Bourguignon, steak frites, bouillabaisse, and onion soup. You can also choose one of our three tarte flambées (an Alsatian-style pizza): there is the classic with bacon and onion, our vegetarian option with wild mushrooms, or the seafood tarte flambée with smoked salmon and trout. Of course, the full L’Auberge lunch menu will continue to be available in our formal dining room upstairs. Reservations for Jacques’ Brasserie can now be made on OpenTable, you can click here to reserve.
To kick off the opening of our Brasserie lunch service, I’ve expanded and re-landscaped the lower, terrace gardens at Jacques’ Brasserie. Be it lunch or dinner, I hope that you’ll come and enjoy a Brasserie meal outside in the new garden.

Wines of Greece Dinner |
|
We invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 9th at 6:30pm for another in our series of sommelier-curated dinners, as we explore the wines of Greece. Greek civilization was perhaps the first to make wine a staple beverage of the people rather than an elite tipple. Like Italy, Spain and Portugal, Greece has benefited from European Union policies and investment, bringing wonderful wines from distinctive local grape varieties to the world’s attention. Our sommelier, Alex Bardsley AIWS, has chosen five wines from five different grapes and five different regions to illustrate the quality and diversity Greek wines have to offer. Guests will be able to buy thses wines at a special price. |

Musique et Cuisine Dinner |
|
We are honored to host the third Musique et Cuisine series with our talented neighbors at Wolf Trap Performing Arts Center on Sunday, June 28th at 6:30pm. We are reminded that Catherine Filene Shouse, Wolf Trap’s visionary founder and gourmand, was a frequent guest who dined with Papa Haeringer on Sunday afternoons for many years.
Wolf Trap Opera’s Filene Young Artists have performed on some of the country’s premiere operatic stages, including Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera and The Metropolitan Opera. They bring some of the brightest vocal talent to Wolf Trap’s stages every summer, and now, to L’Auberge Chez François! You will enjoy an evening of popular standards, light opera, and Broadway tunes; in addition to Chef Jacques’ six-course garden inspired menu paired with three fine wines.

PlumpJack Winery Dinner |
|
We hope that you can join us on Tuesday, June 30th at 6:30pm for the PlumpJack Winery Dinner. After opening two successful estate wineries in Napa Valley, PlumpJack Estate in Oakville in 1995 and CADE Estate on Howell Mountain in 2005, the partners have created the impressive Odette Estate nestled in the palisades of the Stags Leap District.
Scott Gaffney, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, will guide us through wine pairings that showcase the nuances of all three Estate properties. These properties, from three of the most prestigious appellations within Napa Valley, offer contrasting but “extraordinary” expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests will enjoy a specially prepared six-course menu with wine pairings; and will also have the opportunity to buy the wines at a special price.

Team Member of the Month |
|
James “Jay” Chavez has been with L‘Auberge Chez François since 1999. He was first hired as a waiter and has gained quite a loyal customer base. He is the “anchor” of Jacques’ Brasserie and takes on many roles, including the ever-so-attentive bartender in Bar Rouge. While Jay is taking care of you, you will hear some interesting stories. He has gotten to know many of our customers (and his co-workers) over the years and they have learned that Jay loves dancing at clubs and fixing up cars. If you haven’t gotten to know him yet, please come in and see what all the fuss is about! |
