- Alsatian Fine Wine Tasting and Six-Course Dinner Experience Featuring Robert McFarlane of Potomac Selections
January 13, 2022
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Rooster Room – Very Limited Exclusive Seating
Please join us Thursday, January 13th at 6pm as we welcome back Robert McFarlane of Potomac Selections for an extraordinary Alsatian Grand Cru wine tasting and delectable six-course dinner experience.
Alsace has one of the most varied terroirs of any wine region in the world, featuring limestone and marl, granite, sandstone and other soils, offering a fascinating range of expressions in the wines grown there, in Papa’s homeland.
Robert will be introducing wines from a couple of excellent producers, Domaine Bechtold and Domaine Maurice Schoech, both from importer Neil Rosenthal’s collection. Along with our head sommelier, Alex Bardsley, he will discuss the wines’ different terroirs and how they influence the wines’ style and flavor.
We will be enjoying nine wonderful wines in all. First, a glass of Sylvaner will greet our guests and accompany the delicious seasonal hors d’oeuvres during our reception. Then we will sit down to a tasting in two flights, the first of two Grand Cru Rieslings and a blend from Grand Cru Rangen, the second of three Grand Cru Pinot Gris.
Our six-course dinner experience will follow, accompanied by a Riesling and a Pinot Noir. Chef Jacques has crafted a delectable and delicious culinary repast to showcase their charms.
